1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Akagera National Park website (akageranationalpark.rw) and our safari booking services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Safari Booking Terms

  • Booking Confirmation: All bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit or full payment.
  • Pricing: Pricing is provided upon request and confirmed at the time of booking. Confirmed bookings will be honored at the quoted rate.
  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The deposit amount will be communicated at the time of booking.
  • Full Payment: The remaining balance must be paid at least 14 days before the safari start date.

3. Cancellation Policy

  • 30+ days before: Full refund minus the 30% non-refundable deposit.
  • 15-29 days before: Partial refund available.
  • 7-14 days before: Partial refund available.
  • Less than 7 days: No refund will be issued.
  • No-shows: No refund for failure to arrive on the scheduled date.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unforeseen cancellations.

4. Safari Conduct & Safety

  • Visitors must follow all park rules and regulations as communicated by guides and rangers.
  • Remain in the vehicle at all times during game drives unless instructed otherwise by your guide.
  • Do not feed, chase, or disturb wildlife in any way.
  • No littering — carry all waste out of the park.
  • Drone usage is prohibited without prior written authorization from the Rwanda Development Board.
  • Off-road driving is strictly prohibited.
  • Maximum speed limit within the park is 40 km/h.

5. Park Entry Fees

Entry fees to Akagera National Park are set by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and are subject to change. Current fees and any applicable permits must be paid in addition to safari packages unless explicitly stated as included.

6. Liability & Risk

Safari activities involve inherent risks associated with wildlife and outdoor environments. While we take every precaution to ensure your safety, Akagera National Park and its partners shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, or damage to personal property arising from your participation in safari activities, except in cases of proven gross negligence.

7. Photography & Content

Personal photography is encouraged during your safari. However, commercial photography and filming require prior authorization from the Rwanda Development Board. By sharing photos with us or tagging our social media accounts, you grant us permission to use those images for promotional purposes.

8. Website Use

  • All content on this website (text, images, design) is the property of Akagera National Park and protected by copyright laws.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any content without our written permission.
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of the website without notice.
  • We are not responsible for any inaccuracies or errors in the website content.

9. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, civil unrest, or extreme weather conditions. In such cases, we will work with you to reschedule or provide a credit for future use.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Rwanda.
